Francisco Javier Pérez-Benito studied Mathematics and Technical Engineering in Computer Systems at the Universidad de Salamanca. He is also a Ph.D. in Mathematics by the Universitat Politècnica de València, and his Doctoral Thesis titled “Healthcare data heterogeneity and its contribution to machine learning performance.”

For 4 years, he worked at Immunostep, S.L. as a Project manager where he carried out its computer degree final project “Aplicación web para cuantificación de proteína CD19 soluble en
líquido cefalorraquídeo mediante microesferas conjugadas (Web application for quantification of CD19 soluble in cerebrospinal fluid using conjugated microspheres)
”. He held a job at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja as the author of didactic content for the subject “Advanced Numerical Methods for Engineering”. He had a position at the Universitat Politècnica de València as Senior Research Technician in the Biomedical Data Science Lab (BDSLab) – Instituto Universitario de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones (ITACA), and he also worked at Universitat Politècnica de València as Senior Research Technician in the Instituto Universitario de Matemática Pura y Aplicada (IUMPA). He is currently collaborating with the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja as Artificial Intelligence Master’s thesis director.

Since May 2018, he is working at the research group PRAIA (Perception, Recognition, and Artificial Intelligence Algorithms) at the Instituto Tecnológico de la Informática (ITI), where cooperates with other entities in R&D projects related to health.
