Brief
Javier Cano is a Computer Engineer at the Polytechnic University of Valencia since 1999. He also obtained the DEA ("Diploma de Estudios Avanzados") by UPV in 2003. He has been involved in research and development since 1999, working at the ITI for more than 20 years. He has worked in both public and private research projects linked with the fields of pattern recognition and machine vision. His scientific production includes the publication of 3 papers in international journals, 2 papers in international congresses, and 2 in national congresses.
His professional experience covers several areas in the field of technology transfer, ranging from automatic document processing to quality control for manufacturing processes through 3D industrial inspection. In general, applications on real tasks of techniques from the field of knowledge are known as AI (Artificial Intelligence). Working uninterruptedly since 1999 for ITI at the R&D line of PRAIA ("Percepción, Reconocimiento, Aprendizaje e Inteligencia Artificial" / "Perception, Recognition, Learning & Artificial Intelligence"), he started mainly performing experimentation and research tasks but also writing source code and packaging applications as deliverables for private companies. His professional career has evolved over 20 years to currently assume the role of R&D team coordinator in the PRAIA group.
