Summary

The REACH project, an initiative born from the successful efforts of the EDI – European Data Incubator, and the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program, aims to accelerate data-driven innovation in Europe, working towards the vision of a European Common Data Space and the European Data Market.

Description

Objectives

The project aims to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Second-generation data-driven incubation program: The goal is to select, incubate, launch, and support over 100 startups and SMEs focused on the data cycle, conducting business-oriented experiments on multi-actor, data-centric value chains, with security and reliability.

  2. Tools for secure and reliable data value chains: Provide SMEs with ready-to-use tools that increase trust and security in data sharing and exchange.

  3. Scale-up for data-driven startups and SMEs: Prepare a strategy to help incubated companies launch products and services to the market. This will include an analysis of the technological and market maturity level, as well as participation in industrial events with investor presence.

  4. Securing private investment: Connect incubated companies with corporate investor networks and business angels, as well as promoting investment rounds.

  5. Ecosystem sustainability: (1) Create an ecosystem supported by DIH (Digital Innovation Hubs) networks and competence centers in the field of secure and reliable data-based value chains; (2) Disseminate the results of experiments and their social and economic impact to businesses and citizens across Europe; (3) Ensure REACH’s sustainability beyond the project’s scope, in line with other European Common Data Space initiatives, including the Big Data Value Public-Private Partnership.

  6. Go-to-market strategy: Design and validate a strategy and model for the sustainability and commercialization of the REACH concept. The resulting methodology and knowledge will be applied to engage new sectors and value chains, driving the development of innovative products and services supported by private investment and a validated return model.
