François Signol is a Doctor in Physics from the University of Paris-Sud (Orsay, France). He is also a Telecommunication engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electronique d'Informatique et de Radiocommunications de Bordeaux (ENSEIRB, Bordeaux, Francia). Furthermore, he has 2 Master's degrees: one in Computer Sciences obtained from the University of Paris-Sud and the second in Signal Processing obtained in the University of Bordeaux I.

His professional experiences cover the areas of speech and signal processing, computational vision, computer sciences, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. He worked 5 years in France for the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in the Laboratoire d'Informatique pour la Mécanique et les Sciences de l'Ingénieur (LIMSI). He worked also as an Associate Teacher in Computer Sciences in the Institut Universitaire de Technologies (Orsay, Francia) providing more than 500 hours of classes.

Since 2011, he works in the Instituto Tecnológico de Informática (ITI) in the Perception, Recognition, Learning and Artificial Intelligence (PRAIA) group participating in Research & Development projects and collaborating with other entities. François Signol initially worked in the areas of 3D reconstruction and automatic object recognition, face recognition or age/gender classification from faces in video streams.

Since 2015, he is a lead researcher and project manager. During the last five years, he is focused on the management and development of R&D activities in bioinformatics bringing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to the service of Health. He actively collaborates in projects related to covid-19, sepsis, type 2 Diabetes, Breast cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Endometriosis, Alcoholism, and Mental health.
